Your Airbnb.org questions, answered.

Answering common questions about how Airbnb.org works.

Do hosts still get paid?

Yes, because Airbnb.org pays for emergency stays for people in need, hosts receive payment just like any other stay.

Do I need to sign up to host Airbnb.org guests?

There’s no sign-up needed. Airbnb.org guests can book any home on Airbnb. You’ll be notified in the app if someone staying through Airbnb.org books your place. Airbnb.org pays for stays, which gives guests the freedom to book the home that best fits their needs. This means our guests can stay close to school, work, a treatment center, or their damaged home as it’s repaired.

Does hosting an Airbnb.org stay require extra work?

Nothing extra is needed. The space you already have can help families recover during difficult times, with things like laundry, a kitchen for a shared meal, or space for kids or pets to play.

How can hosts help Airbnb.org?

Hosts can support Airbnb.org in a few ways. Make a donation directly to Airbnb.org, because 100% of donations are used to fund free, emergency housing. Through Airbnb in some locations, hosts can donate a percentage of each payout or set a discount on listings just for Airbnb.org guests.

How you’re supported

When you host an Airbnb.org stay, you have access to all of the support you’re used to as an Airbnb host, plus a little extra. You’re covered by AirCover for Hosts, and you’ll have access to Airbnb.org’s specially-trained customer support team. Local partner organizations identify people in need, then they help them book a short-term stay through the Airbnb app—which verifies their identity just like a usual stay.
